I started Altasys Software because I kept encountering the same
problems — businesses with critical systems that had grown beyond
anyone's clear understanding of them, data that no one trusted, and
processes that had accumulated rather than been designed. The
technology was rarely the hard part. The hard part was understanding
what the problem actually was before reaching for a solution.
Twenty-five years on, that instinct still drives every engagement.
The landscape has changed — cloud, AI, regulatory complexity that
would have been unrecognisable a decade ago — but the diagnostic
discipline is the same. Define the problem precisely, understand
the constraints, design something that will still make sense in
three years, and document it so the next person doesn't have to
reverse-engineer your thinking.
The name comes from a school motto: Ad Alta — to the highest.
It describes what good technology practice should aim for. Not just
functional. Properly designed, properly documented, properly governed.
Built to hold up, not just to ship.
Altasys Software is a boutique practice. That means when you engage
us, you get a senior practitioner on your problem — someone who has
sat in the rooms where these decisions get made, understands what
the compliance officer and the board actually need to see, and can
tell the difference between a technical problem and a governance
problem wearing a technical costume.
